Lodo: "That's not true, I've posted a lot of pics."
Her: "You know what I mean. Those aren't real posts."
Lodo: "They're not?"
Her: "No, not writing posts."
Lodo: "...Well, I've been traveling."
Her: "So, you should keep a journal. Just a few paragraphs every few days or so. You'd kill at that."
Lodo: "...Naw, I forgot my camera's USB cord so I can't post any of the pics I've taken. A blog post needs pics."
Her: "Is that right?"
Lodo: "Absolutley."
Her: "..But its okay to post pictures without writing?"
Lodo: "I do it all the time. No one's going to read a post without pics--but they'll look at cool photos if they're great."
Her: "Hmm. I guess blogging's more complicated than I'd realized."
-extended silence-
Lodo: "Besides, Stays Put is a New York blog. If I write about traveling its kind of defeats the theme of my blog."
Her: "..Really? I thought the title Stays Put was meant to promote a state of mind more than being about..literally staying in one spot or New York or..."
Lodo: "Actually I stole it from Henry Miller. He had this line where he said "Stay put, and watch the world go round!"
Her: "I know where it comes from. But I thought the line was trying to convey a philosophy of...you know, being the hub of the wheel or being everywhere at once. Like that Be Here Now/Now Be Here crap you always spout off. You don't think so?"
Lodo: "...I suppose you could be right. Its a complicated line. Maybe I could write about my travels. ...But a post without pics? Is that even blogging?"

Thanks Lodo , now I'll have to put a picture with every post.
Don't let me tell you how to run your blog Willie--you seem to be doing just fine. Just so happens I like pics with my posts. Not only did I forget my USB cord, but my laptop's locked-up on me. So...I'm screwed! Hope all's well.
I like a pic a post at Humanyms and EatenUp as good policy. I'll hold off a post til the right picture sometimes. funny, the rule doesn't apply at pesbo or 40wordsyear.
blog when you can, what you can. what more can one ask?
Well Pearl, there's writing and then there's blogging, and I suppose sometimes the (2) will meet.
Big shout-out to 40 Word Year and its great writing!
